There is no time for boredom on St. Simons Island. A mild climate
year-round in the Golden Isles and numerous things to do keep everyone as busy as they want to
be.There's plenty of activities for young kids, for families to enjoy together and even for the
more adventurous older children.
Activities range from renting bicycles for a ride around the island on
the many bike paths and walking trails, to riding horses on the beach, to cruising the saltwater
marshes in a kayak.
The area is also famous for world-class charter
fishing. Hobie Cat Sailboats and windsurfers are frequently spotted on the water, as there are
opportunities for rentals, lessons and guided excursions. Riding rented jet skis is another
popular activity which takes place in an approved riding area monitored by an escort boat.
For the landlover, tennis and golf abound. There are 252 holes on
seventeen golf courses in the Golden Isles. St. Simons Island alone has a grand total of 99.

For an evening out on the Atlantic Ocean, "The Emerald Princess" is a
local cruise ship that offers dining, dancing and a full casino.
Nature tours, Trolley tours, Dolphin tours and Air tours are great ways
of exploring the island's beauty and getting acclimated to the area.

Interested in the Cultural Life of the area? The Historic Ritz Theatre
in downtown Brunswick is the host of an annual Performing Arts Series featuring several
award-winning plays, musicals, opera and dance ensembles. Several weekends throughout the year,
the Village on St. Simons Island is the host of many arts and crafts and antique fairs. The
Golden Isles Arts and Humanities Association (GIAHA) serves as the coordinating arts council for Brunswick and Glynn County and publishes a quarterly Cultural Arts and Community Arts calendar.
Feel like riding some waves? The Summer Waves Water Park features 11
acres of water slides, wave pools, an "endless river," children's pool and beach shop. Open
seasonally from Memorial Day through Labor day, Summer Waves is located on Jekyll Island and
can be reached at 635-2074.
